ED & LINDY'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURES....... In 2000, we began a website

chronicling our travels.  After using that site for 17 years, technology changed; it can no longer be updated.  Welcome to our NEW SITE which follows our journeys from the Fall of 2016 to present.  Our thanks go to Andy Paluch/WebGuyz!

This is the largest flying bird of Africa, a Kori Bustard.  Males typically weigh 19kg (~42 lb).  Definitely a large bird!  It will not fly unless it absolutely must for survival.  Kori Bustards are omnivores, eating both plants (like berries) and animals (lizards and snakes).
