On the left is The Lesser City Sword. It was used in the Riding of the Franchises ceremony. It was one of the most colorful ceremonies in medieval Dublin during which the sword was brandished while establishing the borders of the town. On the right is Great City Sword, a guilded sword given to the city by King Henry IV in 1403.
