ED & LINDY'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURES....... In 2000, we began a website

chronicling our travels.  After using that site for 17 years, technology changed; it can no longer be updated.  Welcome to our NEW SITE which follows our journeys from the Fall of 2016 to present.  Our thanks go to Andy Paluch/WebGuyz!

Betel-nut chewing had a long tradition in Southeast Asia.  It turned the teeth black but that was considered to be a sign of beauty (glad that's changed!).  The women in the front are making "betel quid" which is the result of boiling betel leaves (betel plants are in the pepper family).  We're not sure exactly what the betel quid was used for - perhaps a flavoring.
